Moa Wine Safaris was born out of a love for our country and sharing its beauty and people with visitors. Operating under the Obelisk Tours banner, Moa Wine Safaris caters for our passionate wine lovers. Based out of Clyde and Alexandra in Central Otago, we explore and indulge in the many vineyards, cellar doors and restaurants residing in the Cromwell and Alexandra Basins. The Central Otago Winegrowers are a passionate bunch who are community orientated and help each other out - very rare within industries! They learnt from scratch, through trial and error, passion and a drive to be the best they can be. The viewpoint shared by all is if a vineyard gets national or international recognition, then the benefits are reaped by all in the region as the spotlight is on the region as a whole.

 

 We are a family operated business, founded by Lauren Sutherland and supported by her wider family. Growing up in Arrowtown within the beautiful basin of Wakatipu, she has a familiarity with the past and present of the region.  Holidaying and visiting friends and family throughout the region including Omarama, Wanaka, and Alexandra helped develop her love of the area and wanting to share the experiences with others.

 

Within Central Otago, there are many things to see and do, tour vineyards, have wine tastings at the cellar doors, enjoy a barista made coffee at the cafes, enjoy delicious food at the restaurants. Half day, full day or multiday tours are all possible! Let us know your preferences and we will create a custom itinerary just for you.
